If you want a waterfall without a hard hike, Creation Falls is the one. It sits on the Rock Bridge Trail, a short, easy loop (about 1.4 miles) that packs in more scenery per step than almost anything in the Gorge.
What you'll see. The trail follows a creek to Creation Falls — a low, wide waterfall that spills into a clear blue-green plunge pool, a popular spot to wade and cool off on a hot day. A little farther on is Rock Bridge itself: the only natural arch in the Red River Gorge that spans water, arching right over the creek.
Why it's worth it. A waterfall, a wading pool, and a natural arch in one short, mostly gentle loop makes this a favorite for couples, families, and anyone short on time. It's one of the most popular easy hikes in the Gorge for exactly that reason.
Getting there. The Rock Bridge Loop trailhead sits off KY-715 in the Gorge (Rock Bridge Road). Double-check current parking and road access before you go — these can change seasonally.
When to go. Spring brings the fullest waterfall flow and wildflowers; summer is prime for wading in the pool; fall adds color. Footing near the falls can be slick — watch your step, and pack out everything you bring.
